You can set a goal then work out how long to save. Linking money to time makes the goal clear and reachable.
Let’s explore
🎯
Before saving, pick a goal: a book, a fairly priced toy.
📅
Knowing the price, you can work out how long to save. Example: 50,000d item, save 10,000d a week → 5 weeks.
🏆
When you reach the goal, you will feel proud you saved it yourself!
🧮
Weeks-to-save formula: Weeks = Item price ÷ Amount saved each week. Example: a 60,000d item, save 15,000d/week → 60,000 ÷ 15,000 = 4 weeks. The more you save each week, the sooner you arrive.
Practice activity
✏️ Write down an item you want and its price, then work out how many weeks to save.
Worked example: You write: “Want: color pen set — Price: 60,000d — Save each week: 15,000d.” You compute 60,000 ÷ 15,000 = 4 weeks. So in 4 weeks you can buy it.
